Two Bloggers Went Out One Night…

And they talked about blogging. Ba-dump-bump. Wait! Sorry, I’ll stop being lame. Let’s start over. I can do better. I promise.

I actually did go out one night with another blogger. The night in question being Friday. The other blogger being Elliot of Claw of The Conciliator. As you can guess, it was a fairly bookish night.

Our Bookish Itinerary

Elliot arrives with a stack of Grant Morrison comics, and more. I demonstrate my son’s association of Old English, thous and thees and whatnot, with what he calls “Mowgli talk”.

We try and fail to get me into the University Library. I retain my obnoxious and uncultured opinions about it’s contents.

We went to a Manga/Anime store. I felt like I was living in the 21st Century. Inexplicably, amongst the slick, flashy Japanese animation was the complete, and completely ugly, He-Man cartoon series from the 80s. I ate something called Pocky.

We went to one of Winnipeg’s top used bookstores and browsed. You might find this strange, but this was a lot of fun. That’s what it’s like being a book lover. Owner Kelley, taught us all about the ins and outs of shoplifting from used bookstores, specifically, what to look for and where to get to rid of it. Despite being tempted by the seamy underbelly of the book trading world I managed to resist and paid for my purchases instead of walking out with them.

And then, perhaps anticlimactically to you, but not to us, we ate sandwiches.

The Evidence

Now, Elliot has produced a snapshot of the two of us on his blog so I feel obliged to do the same. Here’s Elliot and I at Aqua Books when we find out there’s no trade available on the books Elliot wants to buy.

Elliot and Ian, or maybe Tango and Cash. I’m not really sure.

  1. Thanks for the comment-I’m glad that you enjoyed the review. 🙂 I’ve been really busy the past week or two (graduating college, moving, etc.), but I hope I get a chance to look at your blog soon. It looks great!

  2. Thanks for stopping by, Eva! I’m glad you like how the blog looks – I never do. That’s the price you pay for being a fussy graphic artist. I can make nice things for other people but I’m never satisfied with the work I do for myself.

    Welcome to Upper Fort Stewart!

  3. So, which one is me, anyways?

  4. You can be Stallone. I can be Russell.
