I had a running moment this morning. By “a running moment” I mean forgetting about what I’m doing, thinking about something else, and running unconsciously. And it was pretty brief. But as someone who’s only in his second week of the couch to 5K running plan and hasn’t run since high school — where I couldn’t run a half mile — this was a pretty big deal for me. Also, it was past the halfway point of my morning exercise when I should have been telling myself to quit running and give up this stupid plan, etc. So that was kind of cool.
The “something else” I was thinking of was Steve Earle’s I Feel Alright. The album version is on my running playlist — the number of beats per minute is perfect for my jogging pace. This is an awesome tough-bastard country song that sounds like it could have been sung by someone from an H. Rider Haggard adventure. And I don’t even like country music. But everyone makes an exception for Steve Earle, right?
Anyway, I feel alright. 🙂
